Dumb question

I feel a bit silly asking such a question, but I'm not having much luck with Google. I'm a part-time post-bac student, and thus never received any proper Orientation to Tufts.

How do plusses and minuses on grades factor into GPA calculation (in arts, sciences, & engineering)? My undergraduate university didn't award them, except internally to show you how close you were to the next grade.
